Masbad: Tech products that spell innovation

Wacky Tech

IF YOU'RE the kind of person who’s always on the lookout for products that are yet to be available in the market, a good place to check out would be Kickstarter’s Design & Tech section.

Over the years, I’ve come across great ideas there that have been funded and went into production. Two of these that come to mind as I write this are Moment and Peak Design. And there’s a lot as well in there that will almost or exactly be a rip-off of another one. But that’s not what I wanna talk about.

Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more ads about Kickstarter projects that I may be directly or indirectly interested in. I picked out three that really caught my eye.

Push forward luggage

G-RO SIX Carry On is exactly what that is. It’s carry-on sized luggage that you push forward in front of you much like you’re pushing forward a baby stroller. And as the campaign claims, it’s so much more spacious that your usual carry-on luggage of today.

A really compact tripod

Peak Design has been on my radar ever since they came out with products catering to the photography community. Their everyday backpacks are also great. I’ve inspected some of the models in one store in Manila and I like what I held in my hand. This time around, they have a new tripod.

It’s a tripod that will, to me, redefine how tripods are designed. Well, at least for the compact tripods. What I like about this is that, well, it’s definitely compact based on what I’ve seen on YouTube so far. And if you’re a travelling photographer or social media influencer, that’s going to be a god-send.

Run-and-gun audio recording

Every content creator who shoots or records audio as a one-person crew knows how hard it is to lug around multiple equipments. Camera, tripod, lights, audio equipment. In a lot of situations, the preference would always be to travel light to a location; bring as small a number of gears as possible.

Mikme has a solution for that in the Mikme Pocket.
