Zamora-Arceo: Trump making crap history

DONALD Trump. First American president to cross at the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea. Oh, how he cherishes the attention. He is a superstar.

But at what cost? The United States nuclear talks with North Korea have gotten worse. During the last talks, NoKor dictator Kim Jong Un vowed to consider denuclearization. Meaning, he was considering to totally scrap nuclear weapons development. But with Trump’s latest Hollywood-stint, they agreed to just “freeze” the nukes. Just suspend, not stop. What a waste! A waste of time for the American people as well as to all nations opposing nuclear weaponry.

And another downside of this historic but crappy act of Trump is the fact that Kim was given the recognition as a nuclear authority. He got the upper hand against USA, thus creating a precedent to all other states developing arsenal like Iran and Russia.

Trump’s action is a bad call for America’s foreign policy. Even Kim was quoted by the press as saying that he did not expect Trump’s bold visit.

The Insurance Commission (IC) recently ordered all health maintenance organizations (HMOs) to provide medical coverage to HIV patients.

Under a circular letter issued last June 21, the IC is required to implement and develop policies that are non-discriminating to persons afflicted with HIV.

The new policy is indeed a welcome note to the HIV patients and their families. The new directive is inclusive and humane.

The first case of HIV in the Philippines was recorded in 1984. Today, there are at least 65,463 confirmed HIV cases in the country as per records of the Department of Health (DOH).

Most of the HIV patients are in their mid-adulthood age of 25 to 35. And out of the given number, 94 percent are male accounting to about 61,000 individuals.

According to DOH, there is an average of 38 persona detected with HIV daily.

This is alarming to sexually active people, especially those working graveyard shifts and prone to multiple sexual activities. There is no better precaution against HIV than to avoid sexual activities with strangers and avoid promiscuity.

Better to be loyal to your partner or be sexually active with your spouse.

It is also good to learn more about HIV and help educate other people.
