P12-M marijuana confiscated in Kalinga

SIX drug pushers including four members of the Cyrus Group were nabbed in a drug bust in the Police Regional Office Cordillera’s (PRO–COR) week long Simultaneous Anti–Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (Sacleo).

At least P12 million worth of marijuana bricks were also confiscated during the drug bust conducted at Purok 4 Barangay Bulanao Tabuk City, Kalinga June 28.

Jehoshaphat Balliyao Agod a.k.a “Deo”, 23, driver and a resident of Poblacion , Tinglayan, Kalinga, Ceasar Dalutag Marngo a.k.a “Cyrus”, 35; Ganipis Macaiba Baggas a.k.a “Ganip”, 34, farmer; and Joey Dalutag Marngo a.k.a “Joey”, 28, all residents of Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga were arrested during the drug bust.

Police revealed the suspects are members of a big time drug syndicate operating in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Kalinga province.

Marngo was previously arrested in Quezon City for possession of 40 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves in 2017, however, the case was dismissed.

Authorities confiscated close to 100 kilograms of marijuana bricks with a Dangerous Drug Board Value of P12 million and one caliber .45 pistol with a loaded magazine.

In another operation, two female drug pushers identified as Rhea, 39, and Mary Grace, 34, were collared in Quirino Hill, Baguio City on June 28, with seven sachets of shabu confiscated from their possession.

Eight other persons were arrested while having a drug session in Benguet Province.

Apprehended were Stafin Calion Olsim Jr, 54, and resident of Toyong, Pico; Raymark Sosa Granil, 25, porter, native of Tarlac and resident of Betag; Ariel Bawas Degyem, 38, porter, and resident of Western Buyagan, Poblacion; and Mark Jason Kidsolan Nugal, 30, and resident of Induyan, Alno, all of La Trinidad, Benguet.

They were arrested at Toyong, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet in the evening of June 24 after a concerned citizen informed the police of the ongoing session.

Confiscated were eight heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

In Buguias, Arnel Elliad Gatawa, 39, and Dexter Galawa Locante, 42, were caught in the act using illegal drugs at the basement of Suligay Building, in Abatan in the afternoon of June 30.

Recovered from the alleged drug supects were one opened small plastic transparent sachet containing residues of suspected shabu and drug paraphernlia.

In Kalinga, Ace Wayet, 31, and Gabriel Dawayan, 52, both from Tabuk City were also apprehended on June 30 were one heat sealed transparent sachet containing suspected shabu, and assorted drug paraphernalia were confiscated.

Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, director of PRO-COR, urged all police units to sustain their operation and run after all illegal drugs personalities in urban centers as well as the countryside.
