THE Cebu-based Avengers Taekwondo Center (ATC) bagged medals in the annual National Taekwondo Poomsae competition at the SM Mall of Asia on June 23, 2019.
ATC jins held their own against powerhouses from University of Sto. Tomas, Far Eastern University and various clubs.
ATC’s McAvyngyr Alob, who donned the De La Salle University’s colors, bagged a gold medal in the team senior standard event.
As the lone entry from Cebu in the freestyle team category, ATC’s Shane and Athena Nasayao, Romeo Reyes III, Johann Abelard Concepcion and Sharlyn Tan snagged a bronze medal.
Athena also paired with Reyes to win the bronze medal in the pair freestyle category.
In the women’s individual freestyle category, Fernz Zarco and Charlote Aquino snagged bronze medals apiece.
ATC was led by coach Avenger Alob.
Like the other clubs in Cebu, the team is under the able leadership of regional chairman Tony del Prado. PR
