Indonesian trade, tourism expo set on July 12-14

INDONESIAN entrepreneurs will showcase the country's tourism industry, food, and delicacies and potential manufactured products to the Dabawenyos on July 12 to 14 at SM Lanang Premier.

The Tourism, Food, and Trade Expo 2019 aims to promote Indonesian and Philippines economic and trade relations.

“It is the first time for us to organize a tourism activity. We will invite the Ministry of Tourism from Jakarta to participate in the expo since the tourism sector is a top priority of our government,” Consul Endah Yuliarti of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia said on Wednesday, July 3, during Habi at Kape media forum.

Yuliarti said their country’s top tourist destinations will be highlighted such as in Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, and Lombok.

“Besides offering Indonesia’s top tourist destination, we will also offer Indonesia’s fast moving consumer goods such as food and beverage manufactured by Indonesian companies ranging from coffee, biscuits, chips, wafer, instant noodles, chocolate drinks, snacks, herbal drinks and food supplements,” she said, adding that authentic delicacies will also be available during the event.

A total of 12 Indonesian companies are expected to participate in the event while six booths will offer tourism and tour packages.

Yuliarti also said that a day before the event, a Business Networking Session at the Marco Polo Hotel to provide venue link business to business direct contact between Indonesia and the Philippines and to identify the other potential business opportunities, probably products that are not yet introduced in Davao City.

It will be attended by local key officials, representatives from government regional agencies and business community from Davao region and other surrounding cities.

Business delegates from North Sulawesi and Indonesian company representatives as exhibitor will also join the business-to-business matching.
