JCI Macajalar’s memorable mass wedding

TWENTY-FOUR couples tied the knot at the Immaculate Conception Parish Church as the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Macajalar 24k organized a mass wedding last June 28.

Through JCI Macajalar 24k’s projecy, Masayang 24K na Kasalan Year 4, the group was able to help couples, who have been together for more than five years and were married through civil wedding, to be wed in church.

Masayang 24K na Kasalan is the group’s flagship project which started last July 2015.

According to JCI Macajalar 24k’s President Kristine Joyce Vega, the project aims to strengthen the basic unit of the community, which is the family, through facilitating the couple’s wedding ceremony and reception.

“We are trying our best to make them experience kanang wedding pud gyud nga naay reception,” Vega said.

“Our goal lang gyud is we value man gud marriage cause family man gyud ang pinaka important sa community,” she added.

The project was also supported by several sponsors such as RBP Event Management Happynings Plus Events Management, Fiona Clara by Camerons, Infinity Creations And Events, Alexis Gowns, Ultra Winds Mountain Resort, Vital PRL Audio & Light concept, The Griffith Project House, DJ John Lj Daitol Pagulong, DreamBoard Artists, Double Bubble Café and Wine Up Zedrick Hamodiong, Cheg Zeeg Suyam, Glammed by Cierra, CRISTIE JANE SIA Hair and Make-Up Artistry , Erika Zuce LLegaria Make-Up, Jane Alvarez Make-up, Sweet District , Dessert Boss Princess Aline Nonieh Zorayda Casinabe, among others.

Vega said that throughout the years that JCI has been conducting the Masayang 24K na Kasalan, it has always been a success and she could see how the couples appreciated and valued their efforts.

She shared that the couples who they helped wed in church through the project have kept in touch with them and still recall what JCI did for them.

“Kay naka impact gyud mi sa ilang lives cause these couples have been together for a long time na. Maka-happy gyud kaayo and then nice ang ilang feedback, they really appreciate it,” Vega said.

Married couple Jennilyn and JM Bactong, who were together for 10 years, expressed their gratitude to JCI for making the church wedding possible which brought joy to them and the other 23 couples.

Vega’s message to the 24 newlywed couples: “I hope we were able to make you happy and we were able to give you a really good wedding. And God bless sa inyong wedding and be strong.”
