SM Foundation distributes relief goods to fire victims in Brgy Tipolo, Mandaue City
SM Foundation Inc., through SM City Cebu and SM Savemore, activated the Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) to help the fire victims in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City on June 28, 2019.
A total of 1,000 kalinga packs were distributed to the fire victims, who are temporarily sheltered in the Cebu International Convention Center grounds. The kalinga packs consist a kilo of rice, two bottles of water, two canned goods and four packs of noodles. SM Foundation Inc. served as one of the first responders after the huge fire displaced Mandauehanons residing in Tipolo last June 27.
OPTE is SM Foundation’s emergency response to victims of natural calamities and disasters.
Its implementation includes close coordination with Savemore and Hypermarket, mall administration employees and volunteers from the mall’s customer relations service team and the Local Government Unit.
