Kidney patient to benefit in WCCS event

AN AILING mother suffering from kidney problems will be the beneficiary of a fight for a cause slated July 6 at the La Trinidad Municipal Gym.

Organized by the World Council for Combat Sports (WCCS) - Philippine Chapter, this event was conceptualized in April and was finalized mid-May and will be the fourth event of the organization since 2013.

Beneficiary of the event for a cause is Teresita Dela Peña who was diagnosed four months ago with stage 5 Kidney problems as organizers hope to raise some funds to help her alleviate her dialysis treatment.

Roy Menzi of CCDC Builders Gym from La Trinidad, Benguet goes up against Junie Kimmayong of the D’Element Orynx Gym and Catalan Taytay Fitness Gym Manila in PRO - AM mma strawweight bout in the main event.

A PRO–AM K1 bout between Bryan Caw-as of Phoenix Fitness Gym from Kapangan, Benguet and Genil Francisco of D’Element Orynx Gym, Catalan Taytay Fitness Gym Manila will be in the co–main event of the fight card backed by Kaisha Life Sciences Private Limited of Mumbai, India, RightMark Printing Press, Builders Gym, and Benguet Capitol Sports Office.

Three K1 PRO-AM will also see action in the fight card featuring Tom Oliver Fortunato (Siam Youth Muay Thai Gym) against Kent Daryl Langpa (CCDC Builders Gym), Wilfred Aludos (MP Highland Baguio Gym) taking on Jerome Balualua (UB Wushu Team) and Berlin Balaswit (MP Highland Baguio) versus Chrystal Yvonne Malecdan (UB Wushu Team).

Nine amateur K1 bouts will open the one day event that includes Rhandolf Rabor (Ilocos Sur) testing Joshua Abul (MP Highland Gym), Christopher John Manipon (Max Fusion) against Renden Oppas (Way of the Champions) and Farbeston Balao-as (Siam Youth Muay Thai Gym) taking on Xander Alipio (Builders Gym).

Also seeing action are Christian Manipon (Builders Gym) squaring off against Glen Decaleng (Siam Youth Muay Thai Gym), Daryl Marcelino (Tribal Torogi) who will take on Ed Liwan (Way of the Champions), and Franco Gines (Muay Boran) opposite Israel Balasican (MP Highland Baguio).

In the female side, Glenda Mae Layagan (Max Fusion) takes on Kendrell Mae Canabe (Muay Boran) while Janet Dulinen (Builders Gym) squaring off against Trixie Ann Laureano (MP Highland Baguio) and Ruth Santong (CCDC Builders) versus Eleanor Erenio (Siam Youth Muay Thai Gym).

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. while admission ranges from P100 to P200.
