Pangan: School general assembly

SANTOS Ventura National Senior High School, situated in Barangay Tabun, Mabalacat City, is one public high school that promotes and espouses regular dialogue and communication with parents of students.

So on June 25, 2019, it held its first general assembly for School Year 2019-2020. On hand to welcome parents of students of HUMSS, STEP, ABM, ICT, Housekeeping and Beauty Care is the new head, Aileen Dizon who forthwith enunciated the school's strict policy of No Collection.

Not a single centavo should be collected from the students, she said, in compliance with the DepEd's order.

However, she appealed to parents with means to find out how they can help in the maintenance of the school by way of voluntary contributions or donations.

Also on hand to speak before those present was Christopher Dulay, president of the outgoing mother PTA. Incidentally, Dulay was elected Vice President of the new mother PTA.

Elections for classroom PTAs and the mother PTA were held on the same day, June 25 and the following were duly elected: ICT Classroom PTA -- President-Benjamin "Benjie" R. Pangan; Vice President -- Marivic Gacillos.

Only these two positions were to vote for the officers of the mother PTA, whose officers were as follows: President -- Gertrudes Cunanan, Vice President -- Christopher Dulay; Secretary -- Rex Pabalan; Treasurer -- Rosa Arceo; and Auditor -- Benjamin "Benjie" R. Pangan.

At the ICT room on the second floor of the four-storey academic building, class adviser Jamie Polidario appealed to parents to help contribute funds for the purchase of more ceiling fans for the convenience of the students.

At the TVL building, Dizon asked the parents to give their share to pave the flagpole area to allow teachers and students to conduct flag ceremonies comfortably. Again, she emphasized that only voluntary contributions are asked for the worthy projects.

SVNSHS is aiming for excellence and quality education so that its products, the students, will be given superior instruction by highly-trained and qualified teachers and instructors. Definitely, they deserve the parents' support.
