A DRUG personality who is in the drug watchlist of the police was shot dead by motorcycle riding in tandem in Purok Bangkusay, Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City on July 2.
The victim was identified as Cefirino Barredo, 55, of the same barangay where the incident took place.
Based on the investigation, the victim who is a motorcycle mechanic was fixing the motorcycle of a costumer when a black motorcycle stopped near him. The back rider alighted and shot the victim several times.
The suspects then drove away heading towards north direction while the victim who sustained fatal gunshot wounds was declared dead on arrival at Lodif Hospital Sagay City by the attending physician.
Four (4) pieces fired cartridge cases of caliber and one (1) piece deformed bullet were recovered from the crime scene.
Per record of the Sagay City PNP, the victim was previously arrested in a buy-bust operation for violation of Sec. 5 RA 9165 on Illegal Drugs but his case was dismissed by Hon Raymund Javier, Executive Judge of RTC Branch 60, Cadiz City due to technicalities.
The Sagay City PNP P also confirmed that the victim was included in their Drug watch list.
The suspects remained unidentified as of this posting.
