Lawmen arrest undocumented Jordanian in Zamboanga City

LAWMEN have arrested a Jordanian in Zamboanga City for being an undocumented and undesirable alien.

The Jordan national, identified as Mahd Afif Abdeljalil Alkar, was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Immigration.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Alkar was arrested around 4:12 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2019, at a hotel along Climaco Avenue in Zone 3, Zamboanga City.

Galvez said the BI had tagged the Jordanian as undesirable alien.

Alkar was arrested pursuant to the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 through the

implementation of Mission Order No. JHM-2019-175 issued by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente dated July 1, 2019 for illegal entrant, undocumented and undesirable alien.

Galvez said Alkar is reportedly married but it was not immediately known whether his wife is a Filipina. (Bong Garcia)
