Coaches forum slated July 13

FIFTY participants are expected when the 1st Addu Volleyball Coaches Forum unfurls on July 13 at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Jacinto campus.

Addu junior high school sports coordinator Mary Baang, on Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao, said, "We will have discussions in the morning and practical drills in the afternoon."

The Addu Athletics Office-organized forum, she said, is also open to non-Ateneo coaches.

Dion Capinpin, meanwhile, said keynote speakers are Ateneo de Manila University Lady Blue Eagles head coach Oliver Almadro, who steered the team's UAAP Season 81 women's title victory, and Addu athletics director Noli Ayo.

He said, "We come up with this project to help educate coaches in Davao and equip them in producing players for UAAP and NCAA. We know we could bring more playes to Manila to play nationally and internationally."

The one-day forum will tackle developing a culture of leadership and creating a culture of excellence.

Registration is pegged at P1,000 inclusive of t-shirt and snacks.
