P252,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P252,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” was seized in drug bust operations by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) from July 5 to 8.

The operations also led to the arrest of seven drug personalities identified as Neil John Hinolan, 18, of Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre; Abe Bastico; Paul John Nazareno; Mario Dequiña, 54, of Barangay Banago, and his companions Charles Pugal, 35, of Barangay Mandalagan; Christopher Jones Sison, 36, of Barangay Mandalagan; Richard Aguado, 28, of Barangay Banago, all in Bacolod City.

Hinolan was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 led by Police Major Jovil Sedel after he was caught selling shabu to a police undercover at about 5:45 a.m. yesterday.

Police recovered from Hinolan’s possession nine sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P15,000, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Operatives of Police Station 8 led by Police Major Charles Gever also arrested Bastico and Nazareno at Purok Masagana, Barangay 6 at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P87,000, and the P500 marked money.

Dequiña and his three companions were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 led by Police Major Ruel Culanag at San Mateo Village, Barangay Banago at about 5 p.m. on July 5.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession seven sachets of shabu weighing 12 grams with estimated market value of P150,000 and the P200 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1, 3 and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
