AC imposes truck ban along Pandan Road

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin has imposed a total truck ban along Pandan Road, including the Pandan Bridge.

Lazatin issued Executive Order No. 6 calling for the “implementation of the truck ban along Pandan Road.”

He said Ordinance 423 prohibits trucks with lengths exceeding 20 feet from bumber to rear bumper from entering the city limits from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has already issued a certification stating the inadequacy of the Pandan Bridge structure to accommodate trucks exceeding 20 tons.

He said “the safety and convenience of motorists and the riding populace is a primary public priority.”

The Executive Order further said “consultations with the affected sectors are being undertaken and that urgent appeals have been elevated for the implementation of the aforesaid truck ban.” (PR)
