THE list of the executive assistants (EA) of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia who will serve for another three years in the city will be released soon.
Leonardia said yesterday that the papers are with lawyer Edward Joseph Cuansing and they will release it soon.
He said that because of the volume of activities, works and travel scheduled to Manila, they failed to release it after their inaugural ceremony on July 1.
As their term of office ended on June 30, about 18 EAs submitted their courtesy resignation to the City Mayor’s Office and it’s up to the mayor if their appointment will be renewed or not.
“It’s now being handled by lawyer Cuansing and very soon we are going to release it. Practically, it’s about the same and we’re looking at the few ones because there are some recommendees, but that’s subject to availability also of the slots,” Leonardia said.
If it will be allowed, he said that they still need more EAs to serve in his administration and they are hoping to deal with the City Council for additional higher ranking EAs.
The mayor noted that they will follow their traditional division of EAs assignments such as social services, health among others.
He said he will also talk with City Administrator John Orola to discuss the programs or directions that they are supposed to do together for the city.
Leonardia disclosed that the appointment of the City Administrator and the City Legal Officer still need a confirmation from the City Council.
