AUTHORITIES arrested early Tuesday morning, July 9, the suspect in the killing of a 15-year-old student inside his classroom in Calamba in Laguna.
A police report identified the suspect as Renz Ivan Valderama, previously identified as Renando Valderama.
He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms on top of the murder charge that was already filed against him.
Valderama was arrested in Barangay Pansol after he was spotted by residents there walking casually along the railroad track at around 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Recovered from his backpack was the .38 revolver with four rounds of ammunition which he allegedly used to kill Mark Anthony Miranda inside his classroom in Masili National High School at around noon on July 4.
In an interview, Valderama said he went into hiding in the hilly portion of Barangay Masili but had to come out because of hunger.
Earlier, the family of the victim said the two were in a relationship and were living together until Miranda left their house and filed rape charges against Valderama in June. (SunStar Philippines)
