Hidalgo: Edsa traffic woes being addressed

PUBLIC Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that new expressways, roads and bridges would help solve the problem.

He said that Edsa has a capacity for 240,000 cars a day but 390,000 cars cause the traffic woes.

During the drafting of the planned infrastructures, the construction will be financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica).

Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is the 18.7-kilometer elevated expressway by San Miguel Corporation that will cut travel time between Makati and Quezon City and will be finished by the end of the year with a few ramps opened.

The Department of Tourism will benefit from this as more tourists will have easy access to transportation.

The high standard railways to Luzon, Cebu and Davao will cut travel time to nine hours.

The public will benefit from the number of successful projects of new expressways roads and bridges.

Several of these Jica-funded multi-billion projects will be completed by year 2021.
