WITH the growing number of passengers, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Davao will launch additional 10 modern public utility bus units that will ply the route between Davao City and Maragusan, Compostela Valley on July 11 in line with the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).

The LTFRB-Davao said the 10 new 54-seater provincial buses are euro 4-compliant equipped with a flat-screen television, closed-circuit television (CCTV), dashboard camera, and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver in compliance with the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines (OFG).

LTFRB-Davao said that these units will be operated by Davao Metro Shuttle Corporation.

Lawyer Armand Dioso, LTFRB-Davao Regional director, said they are eyeing to open more routes in the region to address the growing need of public transportation under PUVMP.

They are set to launch the buses at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal.

“These new buses will cater the transportation needs of the growing number of passengers from Davao City going to Maragusan, Compostela Valley Province. These will also provide easy access to the numbers of tourism sites in Maragusan and will tend to increase tourist arrivals,” Dioso said.
