THE Cebu International Film Festival (Cebu.IFF) is organizing a pitch market for its festival this year.
The event will be held at the SAFAD Theatre of University of San Carlos–Talamban Campus in Cebu City on Sept. 25-26, 2019.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, Singapore-based film producer Chan Gin Kai will hold a pitch workshop.
From 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Chan will present and conduct a lecture about pitching for one’s project. This event is open to film students and other interested filmmakers. At 1 p.m., there will be a lecture about pitch development. This will end at 5 p.m. and it is open to selected projects for the pitch market.
On the second day, Thursday, Sept. 26, there will be a project pitch from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Each project is given 10 minutes—a five-minute pitch and a five-minute question-answer portion. At 4:15 p.m., the awarding of prizes will take place. A networking event will follow at 4:25 p.m. and it will end at 5 p.m. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
Requirements for interested participants are the following information: logline (one to two sentences); synopsis (one page); treatment (three to five pages); company Profile (if any); profile of producer; profile of director; and budget. The information by the interested participants must be written in English. However, the film could be in any language. The allowed genres for the pitch market are live action or animation, narrative or documentary. Shorts and television films will not be accepted but feature-length only. Only two persons are allowed per pitch presentation, but Cebu.IFF allows multiple projects per person.
The deadline of submission of projects is set on July 15, 2019. The selected projects will be announced on Aug. 8. Formal announcement of the projects will be held on Aug. 15.
