Vice guv: Coal issue has not reached the new PB yet

VICE Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said Tuesday, July 9, that the issue on coal-fired power plant has not reached the new Provincial Board (PB) yet.

"If it reaches the SP (PB), be assured that we will listen to both sides, the pro and anti," Ferrer said.

He said he cannot make a stand yet on the matter and besides, as presiding officer, he can only vote if there's a tie among the members of the PB.

The coal issue was already heard in the previous PB.

Meanwhile, Ferrer said there is no more political lines in the present PB.

"We won as one because we have the merger, so there's no majority or minority at the SP," Ferrer said.

On the election of the Philippine Councilor's League (PCL), Ferrer confirmed that the United Negros Alliance (Unega) will field Sagay City Councilor Arthur Maranon for the presidency of PCL-Negros.

He said Unega would be glad if their candidate will have no opponent.

Up to this time, Love-Negros has yet to name their candidate for the PCL who may occupy a seat at the Provincial Board.
