Bacolod mayor celebrates birthday today

“I WISH that all the major projects we have, particularly the priority projects that were funded by the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) loan can all be implemented at the soonest possible time.”

This is the wish of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who is celebrating his birthday Wednesday, July 10.

Leonardia said Tuesday, July 9, that he will celebrate his birthday with his family and friends.

“There will be no big celebration because like as we did in the previous years that when we have our inaugural, that is at the same time my birthday celebration. We did that in 2010, 2013, and 2016 so it’s two-in-one,” he said.

The mayor, along with the newly elected officials of Bacolod, held a star-studded inaugural ceremony at the Bacolod Government Center on July 1.

The activity was attended by three of the highest-ranking Senate officials, two ambassadors, a US embassy official, and the richest congressman in the last Congress.

Leonardia said it is his wish that all the priority projects such as the MassKara Coliseum, development of Progreso Village Relocation Site, Bacolod City College Development and Facilities, and the construction of roads and bridges will all be implemented at the soonest possible time.

These projects will be funded by the P1.7-billion load from the DBP.

Singer-songwriter ad businessman Jose Mari Chan, an adopted son of Bacolod City, also urged the Bacolodnons to pray for the good health of the mayor so that he will be able to deliver what he promised for the people of Bacolod.

“That’s my wish, continued good health for our mayor,” he said.
