2 ‘undesirable’ Pakistanis nabbed

GOVERNMENT agents arrested two Pakistanis in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga City for being undesirable aliens, the police said Wednesday, July 10.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested as Sajid Ali, 28, and Rahim Zada, 42, who are temporarily staying in this city.

Galvez said the two Pakistanis were arrested after being served an immigration mission order around 5:30 p.m. Monday at a hotel along Governor Lim Avenue in Zone 3 village.

She said the two were arrested pursuant to Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 through the implementation of mission order no. Jhm-2019-176 issued by Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente dated July 3, 2019 for illegal entry, as well as for being an undocumented and undesirable alien.

The police officer said they were placed under the temporary custody of Bureau of Immigration for proper disposition.

Their arrest came four days after government authorities arrested a Jordanian in this city for also being an undesirable alien.

Jordanian Mahd Afif Abdeljalil Alkar was arrested in the afternoon of July 4 also at a hotel in Zone 3 village.

Like the two Pakistanis, Alkar’s arrest was ordered by Morente on July 1, 2019 for illegal entry, as well as for being an undocumented and undesirable alien. (SunStar Philippines)
