THE campaign to recognize and award Cebu’s best brands, products and services celebrated its sixth year with a massive party.

SunStar and Organique’s Best of Cebu 2018 Party, presented by AirAsia and Sun, was held at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on Wednesday night,

July 10, 2019.

The event gathered winners listed in the Best of Cebu 2018 edition published last December. The winners showcased their products through creatively designed booths and free samples for everyone in attendance.

SunStar president and general manager Julius “Jayjay” Neri Jr. said the Best of Cebu has gone a long way, adding that it started as an idea that would encourage Cebuanos, and uplift Cebu’s products and services.

Best of Cebu, he said, is now the guide on what is the best place to dine in and experience Cebu.

Neri expects that the Best of Cebu will keep on improving in the coming years.

The event also saw the launching of the Best of Cebu mobile app. Available for iOs and Android users, the Best of Cebu app should serves as one’s handy mobile guide in experiencing what Best of Cebu winners around the metropolis have to offer—all-year round.

The party, which was a by-invitation event only, gathered about 2,000 guests—restaurateurs and business owners, corporate heads and social media influencers.

The night also featured live music, fun games and raffle prizes. Some Cebuanos were fortunate enough to win passes to the party via contests run through the Best of Cebu Facebook page.

Another highlight during the party was the awarding of the #HuntfortheGoldenSeal winner of P20,000. The contest, launched on the Best of Cebu Facebook page last June 22, challenged Cebuanos to hunt and retrieve a “golden seal” hidden anywhere in Metro Cebu.

To locate the seal, clues were published via the notifications section of the Best of Cebu mobile app. Due to the general public’s warm and favorable reception of the hunt, it was announced that a second edition will be launched soon and the prize will be increased to P25,000.
