HINGPIT na nga natapos ang Tagoloan River Basin flood control project sa lungsod sa Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
Adlawng Martes, Hulyo 9, nahidangat sa lungsod si Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, kauban sila si Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koji Haneda, DPWH Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (Upmo) Operations and Technical Services nga mao si Emil K. Sadain, DPWH project director Patrick Gatan sa Upmo Flood Control Management Cluster alang sa inagurasyon niini.
Mainiton silang gidawat ni Misamis Oriental Governor Bambi Emano, kinsa mapasalamaton og dako sa DPWH ug Japanese International Cooperation Agency (Jica) kinsa maoy nagpundo pinaagi sa usa ka loan agreement.
Ang proyekto mobalor og P778 million alang sa flood control structures nga gilangkokban sa katukoran sa 692-meter upstream ug 1.9-kilometer downstream revetment structures lakip na niini ang excavation ug drainage improvement.
Gibutyag ni Villar nga dako kini kaayo og tabang sa mga residente doul sa riverside nga dili na maabtan og baha susama sa mga nasinatian niaging katuigan.
"The completion of Tagoloan Flood Control is very timely. Makakatulog na ng mahimbing at walang pangamba ang ating kababayan sa Misamis Oriental," matud ni Villar.
Ang lungsod sa Tagoloan usa lamang sa flood risk management projects nga giimplementar sa DPWH nga gilakipan sa Cagayan de Oro ug Imus River Basin.
Pasalig ni Villar sa Misamisnon ug Kagayanon nga samtang magpabilin siya nga secretary sa DPWH, iyang ikapasalig nga daghang proyekto ang mabubo hilabi na sab nga soud niyang higala ug dako og tabang kaniya sa pagsugod si Emano.
Sa laing bahin, mapasalamaton si Emano sa DPWH ug ngadto sa Jica gumikan dako kini kaayo nga proyekto nga nakabinipesyo ang lalawigan.
"I think not only we are protecting with the river with the flood controlm not only we are protecting our environment, the people within but giving the opportunity to people to flourish again in the rivers of Tagoloan. I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the Japanese government, you know the opportunity that you have given is not only for the future Mr. Ambassador but the opportunity that you have given especially of my people who will be able to work during the construction," matud ni Emano, kinsa miingon nga daghan sa mga residente nakatrabaho niini gumikan sa katukoran.
