Kin of ‘NPA victims’ seek justice anew



AS THEY again sought for justice, families of some of the alleged victims of New People’s Army (NPA) in Moises Padilla town have asked the help of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Negros Occidental.

The kin went to the office of CIDG-Negros Occidental Provincial chief Lieutenant Colonel Luke Ventura on Tuesday, July 9.

They asked Ventura to solve the killings of Jose Joerito Amable, Magdaleno Grande, Jolomar Hilario, Milchol June Ruales, Rusty Caminade, Jaime Mori, Technical Sgt. Romeo Infanti, Edwin Liboon, Armando Secuya, Bernard Bolhano, Dave Valente, Alejndro Borres, and Fedrico Bitgue III.

Led by Agustin Grande III, Elizabeth Bitgue, Marlyn Amable and Chuchie Bitgue Delos Santos, the families claimed that the murder were carried out by the Special Partisan Unit (Sparu) of the rebel group.

They also submitted to Ventura their letter reiterating the appeal for the CIDG to form a task force that will work for the speedy resolution of these killings.

The victims were killed helplessly and that no progress report has been given. The cases remained unresolved up to this time, they claimed.

Earlier, the families also sent a letter of appeal to CIDG Director Major General Agustin Corpus also to look into the cases.

On July 6, another resident of Moises Padilla, who is a former member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team, was also killed by four armed suspects at Sitio Kabayabasan in Barangay Gil Montilla.

The victim identified as Ronnie Ortuoste was on his way home with his wife when they were waylaid by four unidentified suspects.

Initial investigation showed that alleged NPA members may have killed the victim.
