A HOTEL in Cebu that stands for Cebu—that has been what defines Cebu Parklane International Hotel (CPIH) for the past 13 years. Since its inception in 2006, the homegrown hotel has successfully made a name for itself and has continuously been the top-of-mind accommodation amid the dynamic hospitality scene in Cebu.

What makes it stand out from the rest is its brand of being distinctly local with a burning passion to celebrate the arts and culture of Cebu. With the hotel being owned and run by Cebuanos, guests would be assured that they will get the distinct Cebuano warmth and charm that continue to endear both locals and tourists.

A Distinctly Cebuano Restaurant

Of course, the Cebuano experience wouldn’t be complete without the food. True to its direction of being distinctly local, Parklane is the first hotel on the island to have a Cebuano restaurant, Kan-anan, showcasing authentic Cebuano fare.

Sangka sa Kaha

For several years now, Parklane has been going the extra mile quite literally by holding its annual Sangka sa Kaha in different towns and municipalities in Cebu. Local culinary experts battle it out to see who has the best version of their locality’s traditional dish. The winner’s recipe then gets featured on Kan-anan’s menu. This year, the annual cookout is expected to travel to Northern Cebu for its eighth run.

Parklane Bohol

In 2019, Parklane is set to bring its “Distinctly Local” brand of service outside of its home turf and into Bohol. In December this year, Parklane Bohol Resort and Spa is poised to be the first professionalized resort in Anda, Bohol with the opening of its first phase. The resort lets guests enjoy the pristine beauty of another part of the island and not just Panglao. It features 118 rooms and a function room that could accommodate up to 300 people—the first in Anda.

The distinctly local Parklane aims to grow with the community and showcase what the destination could offer. It is working closely with local schools to train hospitality professionals and is partnering with the local government and suppliers to improve the area’s infrastructure.

A Hotel with a Heart

The hotel has also been taking initiatives to lessen its carbon footprint. Parklane’s guests can expect to have their shampoo and other amenities in a fixed dispenser to eliminate the need for disposable plastic bottles. The hotel is also actively doing monthly clean-up drives and upcycling recyclables to make Christmas decorations which are sold to raise funds for local charities.

Through the years, Parklane has definitely engraved a place in the hearts of the Cebuanos. From being just a humble homegrown hotel, it has grown to become an icon that proudly stands for Cebu. “I’m thankful to all the people for their continued support for Parklane and for giving us 13 fruitful years. I hope that they’ll be giving the same support that they’re giving to Parklane Cebu to all the other Parklane properties in the future,” said CPIH general manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan.
