THE fifth season of the Mindanao Blue Knights Track League (BKTL) will resume on July 27 at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) track oval in Matina, Davao City.
BKTL manager and Addu grade school sports officer Airnel Abarra said he expects 80 to 100 participants in the one-day trackfest.
"This is open to the public. Our categories are boys and girls 12-under, 13 to 16 and 17-above," he told members of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) during their weekly forum at The Annex of SM City Davao Thursday, July 11.
He said teams from Run out of Poverty (Roop), Xavier University-Cagayan de Oro, Surallah, South Cotabato, AL Navarro National High School, Lasang, Davao, Davao Oriental, Asuncion, Davao del Norte, Rizal Memorial Colleges, Holy Cross of Davao College and Malaybalay City have confirmed to join.
Erika Bacani, a National Bikini Bodybuilding/Fitness champion, is the guest speaker during the opening program.
Abarra hopes they could bring BKTL to other areas in Mindanao although they had conducted a similar trackfest in Koronadal City, Lanao del Norte and Davao del Norte.
