Helper injured in mauling, hacking

A 23-YEAR-OLD helper was injured after he was mauled and hacked by an unidentified assailant on Araneta Street at Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City Wednesday, July 11.

Police identified the victim as Armando Aldea, a resident of Barangay Tabu in Kabakanklan City.

Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8, said that Aldea sustained multiple wounds after he was attacked by the suspek using an arnis stick and sugarcane cutter around 11:45 p.m.

He said the victim was working as helper at the house of Cloe Villacampa, 32, of Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City.

Investigation showed that before the incident, the victim invited the suspek to have a drinking session inside the house of Villacampa.

After an hour, the assailant took an empty bottle and arnis stick and hit the victim.

He (suspect) then took a sugarcane cutter and hacked him.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, while the suspect fled bringing along the laptop of Villacampa.

Gever said they are still conducting a thorough investigation to identify and arrest the suspect. (MAP)
