DRUG personalities were caught red-handed during a drug bust conducted in the City of Baguio and Province of Benguet.

In Baguio City, six drug personalities were separately apprehended after they sold sachets of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to undercover cops.

On July 9, Erwin Umuquit Cuarteron, 21, bicycle attendant at Burnham Park, Baguio City, and resident of Lopez Jaena, Aurora Hill, was arrested along an alley in Purok 2 Ambiong, Aurora Hill, Baguio City, while a female drug pusher identified as Ma Bella, 41, hair stylist, a resident of Agoo, La Union and a member of Pascua Drug Group operating in La Union, was arrested in Barangay Lourdes Proper.

Confiscated from Cuarteron were a sachet of shabu, P500 cash, P500 marked money, a cellular phone and assorted drug paraphernalia, while two sachets of suspected shabu, P1,000 buy-bust money, P1,000 marked money and another cellular phone were confiscated from Sopolmo.

Four other persons were arrested at East Quirino Hill, Baguio City on July 10. They were identified as Alona, 35, of Masbate; Mayhen, 35, and Jason Aquino Pertobal 29, both from Pangasinan; and Alfeo Hopana Alparo, 29, of Dolores, Abra.

Records show that Deinla is a high-value target and has been on the watchlist since 2016.

Her three other cohorts admitted they were used by Deinla as couriers of shabu.

Confiscated from them were nine sachets of shabu, P500 cash, P3,500 marked money, a pouch and a cellular phone.

In Benguet, two drug pushers were separately apprehended on July 9.

They were identified as Randy Palacsa Bugnay, 26, a miner and resident of Upper Abatan, Buguias, Benguet, and John Galacyan Nganayon Jr., 30, a native of Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Confiscated from Bugnay were one plastic sachet of shabu, P1,000 drug bust money and one cellular phone.

Nganayon, on the other hand, yielded a sachet of shabu, a cellphone and P1,000 drug bust money.

All suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Board of 2002.

Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, Police Regional Office-Cordillera director, commended the operatives for the arrest of the suspects.

He vowed to continue their anti-drug operations and arrest all those who are involved in illegal drug operations in the Cordillera.
