Menzi outpoints Kimmayong in WCCS event

ROY Menzi of CCDC Builders Gym in La Trinidad, Benguet emerged victorious after three grueling rounds and escape Junie Kimmayong of D’Element Oryx Manila with a unanimous decision in the main event of a fund raiser during the weekend.

Menzi and Kimmayong squared off in a Pro-Am MMA event for a kidney patient was organized by the World Council for Combat Sports (WCCS) – Philippines Chapter conceptualized in April finalized in May and the fourth event of the organization since 2013.

In the co-main event, Genil Francisco of D’Element Oryx Manila defeated Bryan Jake Caw-as of Phoenix Gym - Kapangan, Benguet via unanimous decision in the Pro – K1 bout while Jerome Balualua (UB Wushu Team) stopped Wilfred Aludos (MP Highland Gym) with a second round technical knock – out in another Pro K1 match–up.

Khrystal Yvonne Malecdan of UB Wushu Team edged Berlin Balaswit of MP Highland Gym via a second round TKO while Ruth Santong (CCDC Builders Gym) barely escaped Eleanor Erenio (Siam Youth) with a split decision win.

Ed Liwan (Way of the Champion) took a majority decision win against Israel Balasican (MP Highland Gym) in the event backed by Kaisha Life Sciences Private Limited, Mumbai, India.

In a sanda bout, Christian Manipon (Builders Gym) defeated Daryl Marcelino (Tribal Torogi) via split decision even as Janet Dulinen (CCDC Builders Gym) toppled Trixie Ann Laureano (MP Highland Gym) with a first round TKO in an amateur K1 fight of the event also backed by RightMark Printing Press and Builders Gym.

Max Fusion’s Glenda Mae Layagan outpointed Kendrell Mae Canabe of Muay Boran to earn a unanimous decision of the fund raiser also supported by Benguet Sports Office and Audio Enhance Sound and Lights.

Other winners in their amateur K1 event include Christopher John Manipon (MAX Fusion), Xander Alipion (Builders Gym) while Rhandolf Rabor (Cabugao Combat) and Terrence Vallejo (MP Highland Gym) settled for a draw. (SunStar Baguio)
