THE matriarch of the Yanson siblings, Olivia Yanson eased Friday, July 12, the tension that erupted at the South and North Ceres Bus Terminals in Barangay Bata and Sambok, Lopez Jaena here in Bacolod City.
Tensions erupted at the two bus terminals Frirday morning after the blue guards belonging to Ay Security Agency hired by Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) new management attempted to take over the terminals from the existing security personnel under the management of Leo Rey Yanson.
Members of AY Security Agency tried to enter the two terminals, but they were immediately stopped by the guards working on behalf of Olivia Yanson, who also arrived in the area.
During the confrontation, Yanson said the takeover was illegal as they were not able to produce any court order.
Members of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) also arrived to help de-escalate the tensions between the two sides.
In an interview following the incident, Yanson said her children’s actions was “hurtful” and that they should avoid escalating the situation, and instead wait legally.
“What they have done is beyond the limit,” she said.
She also ordered the guards working for her to “relax,” work normally, and avoid any overreaction.
Yanson added they will analyze the incident to see if another legal action would be necessary.
Operations in the two terminals, meanwhile, remained normal throughout the day as the security guards belonging to AY Security Agency stayed at the entrance of the said terminals. (TDE)
