WHO is this newly elected official who has been booted out by his siblings from their ancestral house because his relatives opposed his relationship with his new girlfriend? The official’s new girlfriend is a former City Hall employee. They were reportedly living in the official’s ancestral house, but since his siblings who also live in the same compound are opposed to their “romance,” the official was forced to leave their house with the girl.
The siblings even threatened not to support the official’s reelection bid in the next election if he would not stop his relationship with the girl. It is not known why the siblings oppose their relationship. A very reliable source said the official has been “crazy” in love with the girl. This official’s marriage to his wife had been annulled and he had been romantically linked to several other women who are also in politics. The official’s siblings advised him to use his head and not his heart.

The purchase of garbage shredders worth P8.9 million by the Davide administration that were not used was a total waste of taxpayers’ money. The former Capitol administration purchased the machines that were intended for the waste disposal management of various local government units (LGUs) in the province. But these ended up as “white elephants.”
Why? Because the machines cannot be used as their electrical power distribution system is three-phase electrical power. It needs a three-phase transformer that costs P1.2 million each to operate, which is more expensive than the machine itself, which only costs P468,888 per unit.
The machines were distributed by former governor Hilario Davide III to various LGUs during the election campaign. Jayson Lozano, then acting officer of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (Penro) when the machines were purchased, admitted that he failed to talk to LGU representatives since it was the Environmental Management Services Division (EMSD), as the chief proponent, which coordinated with the solid waste management coordinators of the LGUs.
Davide cannot escape responsibility for the purchase of these machines because I believe the documents passed his office and he approved them. Did Davide know the technical aspect of the operation of the machines? He just approved the procurement without knowing that it needed another electrical requirement before it could be operated. Did he not consult an electrical engineer before he approved the purchase?
Now, who will spend for the purchase of the transformers so that these machines can operate? Some LGUs cannot afford to purchase transformers or purchasing one is not a priority. So, if the LGU cannot provide the needed transformers, these machines will remain idle. Gov. Gwen Garcia said Capitol will not provide transformers.
This is another questionable transaction of the Davide administration that should be looked into. Maybe whoever recommended or initiated the purchase of these machines was only after the “commission.” That is the modus of some government officials, to procure unnecessary supplies and implement projects even if these are non-priority because they are only after the commission, SOP and “under the table.”
