CT-Toda catches 210 motorists for not wearing helmets, driving without licenses

THE traffic enforcers in Talisay City, Cebu caught 210 persons for driving motorcycles without wearing helmets in the first three days of their operation.

On July 9-11, 2019, the violators of the “no-helmet, no-driving” policy implemented by the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-Toda) were issued citations.

Roger Villaver, CT-Toda operations head, said half of the violators failed to show their licenses and motorcycle registrations. This resulted in the temporary impounding of their vehicles. But some motorcycles were released after owners were able to retrieve their driving and vehicle permits.

Nearly 100 motorists were also apprehended by the Talisay City Police Station personnel for the same violations during random checkpoints.

Villaver said most of the offenders are Talisay City residents.

He said they would not show mercy to the violators, including fellow traffic enforcers.

CT-Toda will continue its operations on Saturdays and Sundays, according to Villaver. (from FMD of SuperBalita Cebu/KAL)
