FATHER Mhar Balili, parish priest of the Archdiocesan Shrine of San Roque in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, wed Greg and Pinky Velasco in their home in the presence of their families at 4:30 p.m.
Friday, July 12, 2019. He administered different sacraments on Greg, 38, and Pinky, 35, in one occasion--baptism, confirmation, confession, matrimony and eucharist.
Pinky, who has stage four cancer, received the sacrament of healing as well.
Fr. Balili told SunStar Cebu that the occasion was a mix of joy and sadness and he had to overcome his emotions.
He asked the newlyweds to partake of their wedding cake before Pinky, who was getting pale, laboriously climbed the stairs back to their room.
Greg and Pinky had their civil wedding years back and they decided it was time for a Catholic wedding.
Fr. Balili requested prayers for Pinky. On his Facebook post, Fr. Balili described what he witnessed as “the love of a lifetime.” (MPS)
