P10M allotted for drug rehabilitation facility

THE Zamboanga city government has allocated P10 million for the construction of a drug rehabilitation facility to be called Balay Silungan.

Elmeir Apolinario, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) chief, said the Balay Silungan will be constructed in the village of Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.

It will be managed jointly by the city government in partnership with other government agencies involved in the rehabilitation of drug users and dependents.

He said trained personnel will be hired to implement the rehabilitation program for the clients of the Balay Silungan.

Balay Silungan will provide total rehabilitation to ensure the patients will no longer use illegal drugs after they are released.

Apolinario said the construction of the Balay Silungan is part of the program of the city government against drug abuse. (Bong Garcia)
