AROUND P600,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized by authorities within three hours of separate anti-illegal drug operations in Cebu City and Cebu Province on July 13, 2019.
Members of the Cebu City Intelligence Branch (CIB) nabbed a certain Reymar Donayre alias “Boloy,” 18, at around 8:55 p.m.
Donayre, a resident of Sitio Paglaum, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, yielded 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000, a dangerous drugs board value.
Police Staff Sergeant Alexander Arias Jr., investigation on case, said they recovered from Donayre eight medium packs of suspected shabu. The suspect is now detained at Police Station 6.
After an hour, members of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea), captured two other drug suspects in Barangay San Roque, Talisay City.
The suspects were identified as Elsie Bacalso, 55, and Ophelia Bardilas, 59.
The two yielded 16.26 grams of suspected shabu worth P110,568.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Marlu Conag said Bacalso was brought to a district hospital after she suffered hypertension.
“She was rushed to Talisay City District Hospital for medical attention. She suffered hypertension during the inventory of the confiscated evidences,” Conag said.
Bardillas was temporarily detained at Talisay City Police Station.
At 11:20 p.m., the Mabolo police seized P27,200 worth of suspected shabu from a certain Grezidick Pabilic alias “Tating.”
Pabilic, 31, was caught through a drug bust operation at New Era, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Meanwhile, members of the Pasil Police Station also nabbed a certain Judy Lodonia alias “Aloy” at Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, at 11:40 p.m.
Recovered from him were eight transparent sachets, or some 40 grams, of suspected shabu worth P272,000.
At 11:58 p.m., operatives from Labangon Police Station nabbed an 18-year-old suspected shabu dealer at Sitio Manga, Barangay Punta Princesa.
The suspect was identified as Ervin Laborera, 18, a resident of Sitio Taytayan, Barangay Buhisan, Cebu City.
Police Colonel Arnold Adala, investigator on case, said Labora yielded P4,352 worth of illegal drugs.
“Police Staff Sergeant posted as poseur buyer and was able to buy one small hat sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu. We have recovered from him a total of 0.64 grams of suspected shabu,” Adala said.
Last July 12 to dawn of July 13, authorities were also able to confiscate over P2.6 million worth of illegal drugs within seven hours of illegal drug bust.
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director Gemma Vinluan earlier said she was happy with the results of their operations as part of their all out war on drugs.
She said she aims to totally eradicate drugs in Cebu City so they could declare drug free barangays. (SunStar Cebu)
