STASHED away like a hidden gem at a prime location in Banilad, Cebu City, the trendy hostel brand The Flying Fish Boutique Hostel recently opened its doors to both traveler and local communities alike.

Designed with a good ventilation system and lots of natural light coming through, this vibrant hostel can accommodate more than a hundred people at a time with different room options to choose from. These include the Basic Private Room, Deluxe Double Room, Cozy Quadruple Room as well as a Dorm Rooms (6, 8 or 10 beds). For its quality and affordable accommodation, the hostel also features a beautiful roof deck, co-working spaces that are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, desks, chairs, international plugging systems as well as USB ports. It is also equipped with an in-house restaurant, Nom by Flying Fish, that specializes in traditional Asian food with unique twists.

Cleverly crafted, The Flying Fish brand enforces its commitment to sustainability with the building of the Cebu branch having 95 percent of its structure made out of re-purposed or up-cycled materials such as old doors and furniture as well as styrofoam and other non-biodegradable materials that had also been added into the cement mixture used on its walls for better soundproofing.

Having committed himself to providing quality hospitality services at affordable rates, founder Adrian Tan said of the hospitality industry in the country: “Depending on your budget, it’s either you’re in a very shabby guest-house or you’re at an overpriced resort. There is not much mid-range options in the Philippines. Even if there is, the amenities are not usually complete.”

The Flying Fish brand fully believes that the modern traveler is a mindful one and it takes this philosophy to heart in the way that it conducts itself as a business and as a community. Located on 8 Adelfa St., El Dorado Subdivision, Banilad, Cebu City, The Flying Fish Boutique Hostel in Cebu is its second branch following Dumaguete. The fast growing company is also eyeing other locations in the country.

Following its recent launch, the Flying Fish Hostel Cebu is offering a 30 percent discount on bookings on all room types up until Aug, 4.
