Ilonggo chef wins regional Solane Kitchen Hero Chef competition

SOLANE, the leading liquefied petroleum gas solutions launched its grandest regional to national culinary competition at 888 Premier Chinatown Mall at Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City Friday, July 12.

Gil George Jucaban of IloIlo won in the first ever cooking competition that aimed to discover the next big name in the culinary world.

Its coverage went from North to South and across the 16 regional stops in the country to recognize a new generation of talented chefs.

Ruben Domingo, chief executive officer of Isla LPG Corp, said they believe that the Philippines has some of the best and most talented chefs in the world.

Through Solane Kitchen Hero competition, Domingo said they aim to recognize these chefs who are vital in bringing Filipino cuisine to the world. “We are on the quest to explore and highlight Filipino specialties that are unique to our provinces.”

Renowned chef and Solane Kitchen Hero Ambassador Sau del Rosario and bestselling author and Solane Kitchen Hero director Nancy Reyes-Lumen were the judges of the competition.

The winner took home P100, 000 and will embark on a culinary trip to Japan with customized stops at different food and drink destinations.
