Mendoza: Endless, if you can

The Scribeís Corner

GOD did not promise us to give us bed of roses. And roses as we know have thorns, thus it makes life a combination of ups and downs. Just like the earth's surface, it has liquid, solid and gas. It has plain, mountain, hill, valley and the likes. Water systems have sea, river, creek, lake, brook, stream and others. Even calamities are categorized as fire, typhoon, earthquake and others and they have signals and intensities. Again, those realities give us ideas that in this world, nothing is permanent.

Rich or poor, child or adult, man or woman, we all undergo life's never-ending cycle of ups and downs, success and failure and other opposites and seeming likes.

Human nature tells us to react accordingly to different situations. When a loved one dies, we cry; when a family member graduates, we rejoice, we celebrate and when relationship of know celebrity couple broke, we feel sad. The question here is how long can we move on. The soonest we accept all these events especially the unfortunate ones the better for us to be ready to succeed in the coming days.

Sometimes, we expect something we have been waiting for years, sometimes not even a month or two, we receive the result we are awaiting, sometimes too late, other times too early. The essence here is timing.

There are even times when we say, when it rains, it pours -- of course both negative and positive. Again, it is up to us to be humble in accepting success and gracious with defeats and failures for if we rise and run again, we will be able to finish the race on a time intended for us to have it.

Accordingly, as human again, we start doubting the system, we start questioning our own knowledge and skills to not being enough, though we feel that we are working beyond whatever written in our job descriptions just what many say -- going out of our way, serving until it bleeds, until it pains us.

But how long shall we endure, how long shall we do good and how long shall we be positive in our thinking.

The answer my friends (I don't have enemies) is -- endless.
