P57,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P57, 000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in separate drug bust operations of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Monday morning, July 15, 2019.

The operations also led to the arrest of the two drug personalities identified as Hyrus John Tiping, 26, of Barangay Vista Alegre; and Rommel Jamero, 35, of Purok Star Apple, Lopez Jaena, Barangay 27, both in Bacolod City.

Tiping was arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 led by Police Captain Elmer Bonilla after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at Purok Bagong Buhay, Barangay 30 at about 2 a.m.

Police recovered from Tiping’s possession five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P12, 000, and the P200 marked money.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said that Jamero was also arrested at Corner Mabini- San Sebastian Streets, Barangay 32 at about 1 a.m.

Police recovered from Jamero’s possession 12 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P45,000, the P300 marked money, one .38 caliber, six cartridges of .38 caliber, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1 and 6 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
