Pedicab driver stabbed to death in San Carlos

A PEDICAB driver was stabbed to death by another pedicab driver in Sitio Lamesa, Barangay Buluangan, San Carlos City on July 13.

The victim was identified as Elmer Anos, 38, while the suspect was identified as Salvador Paslon, 41, both residents of the said place.

Police report revealed that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument while having a drinking session. The suspect then stabbed the victim hitting him at the different parts of his body which caused his instantaneous death. The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Meanwhile four fishermen were arrested due to illegal fishing on July 14 in the vicinity of Anjuan Island, Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City.

The suspects were identified as Romel Lausa, 28; Renel Chavez, 24; Juanito Gi'pase, 24 and Remy Chavez, 29, all residents of Barangay Cartagena.

The suspects were apprehended after they were caught in the act engaging in illegal fishing along the territorial water of Anjuan Island, Barangay Cartagena. They were brought to the police station for violation of Section 41 of Sipalay City Ordinance No. 2005-004 or the Illegal use of compressor in fishing.

Recovered from their possession and control were a set of air compressor; two improvised fins; two improvised flashlight; two roll air hose; two spear guns; two face masks and five hundred pesos worth of fish catch.
