Police probes Bacolod bizman slay

THE investigator of Bacolod City Police Station 2 is coordinating with business establishments in Corner 17th Street, B.S Aquino Drive in Barangay 7 to secure more copies of the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera to identify the suspects in the killing of Ernest Baker on Friday, July 12, 2019.

Police Captain Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 2, said Monday, July 15, 2019 they are still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the identity of the suspects.

He said they also have witnesses and some copies of the CCTV, but the footages are not clear to identify the suspects.

“We need to cheek other CCTVs to identify the suspects,” he added.

On Friday evening, Baker was either on his way home or was heading to buy a medicine in a drug store at Corner 17th Street, B.S Aquino Drive, Barangay 7 when unidentified assailants fired at him.

The victim sustained wounds on his head and was brought to a hospital, but he did not survive.

Estopa said that before the incident, Baker, who has an antique business in Bacolod, attended a zumba dance along the B. S Aquino.

“His activities were probably monitored by the suspects, it’s a well-planned to kill him in the area,” he said.

The police are eyeing personal grudge or business related as possible motives in the killing of the victim.
