City police spokesperson is new regional info officer

POLICE Lieutenant Colonel Mardy Hortillosa II, spokesperson of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), was relieved from his post and is now leading the Public Information Office (PIO) of the Northern Mindanao Police in Camp Alagar, Barangay Lapasan, this city.

Hortillosa was ordered relieved effective July 15, and was reassigned at the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) as information officer.

“My career as PIO/spokesperson will not end here since I will be assuming the same position in PRO-10,” he said.

Hortillosa will replace Major Michelle Olaivar who sat as acting PIO head for around two weeks after former PRO-Northern Mindanao spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Surki Sereñas was ordered to lead the Valencia City Police Office.

He said the leadership of Cocpo is still looking for personnel who would replace his post.

“I would like to thank all the city directors that I have worked with for trusting and believing in my capability in handling issues and concerns involving the city police office,” Hortillosa said.

“Rest assured that I will always deliver and perform well. I will also do my best in giving the public the information that they need to know about issues and police concerns,” he added. (Alwen Saliring)
