Super Ka: Junnie Tampos

“I was a wedding coordinator way back 2003 when a couple couldn’t find a band who could perform Michael Buble songs then when MB was still new. I formed a 4-piece band at that time with irregular members until I officially launched On-The-Cover in 2006. We are on FB. Just search On-The-Cover Band and you can “pm” me,” ni Junnie sa interbyu sa Super Ka.

“So big responsibility. Every band member is the bread winner of the family so ana kadako ako job. I make sure we get bookings every month. So far with God’s grace, we survived and we have been playing for 13 years now.”

Nia ang tipik sa among sa Q and A. Nicanor “Junnie” Tampos, Jr., Ssssuper Ka!

Nganong milk tea man?

Why “Good Fri1days”?

It’s called Good Fr1days because the idea of our milk tea and burger joint was born on a Good Friday. Our couple partner, who happen to be our relatives, Jay and Janice, are also milk tea lovers.

Unsay mga best seller?

Good Fr1days Milktea (cream cheese overload) and Epic Burger (cream cheese sauce). P120 each.

Unsay opening hours?

Open siya from 3pm-12mn daily.

Do you consider your business and being with the band your bread and butter?

Yes. But my kids are all grown up now: 27, 24 and 23 years old. So, dili na ingon ana ka pressure.

Any challenges or trials lately?

Not much trials compared to during 8-10 years back. Maybe because I’ve learned to deal with the business and also maybe because I got some of the best band members in terms of attitude and talent.

What it really takes to survive the music industry?

Patience and more patience. Learning to relax under pressure. Lately, I’ve seen the power of God’s work through daily prayer. I’m so blessed.
