Comply with job placement reports

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) 7 yesterday reminded jobs fair participating companies they are mandated to submit placement reports to the agency.

This is so the agency can come up with industry trends-driven labor market data, said Dole 7 Director Salome Siaton.

Companies not complying with this requirement would no longer be allowed to join in the next Dole-organized job fairs, she warned Wednesday, Juy 17, 2019.

Such reports are essential in creating labor market information that are reflective of the region’s current employment growth.

“On our level, using these data, the public particularly jobseekers, will be informed of current labor market trends such as the positions that are in demand and those that are likely hired on the spot during job fairs or the types of industries that are usually hiring on the spot,” Siaton said.

The labor official earlier learned that not all job fair participating companies are submitting their placement reports to the Dole 7 office.

Siaton pointed out participating employers, recruitment agencies and job contractors are mandated to comply with this requirement based on their guidelines.

The Dole 7 head cited the instances when the agency could not easily produce job fair data due to the non-submission of placement reports from companies.

Local employers are required to submit the placement report to Dole within one month after the job fair while overseas employers are to submit this report to the agency within 90 days after the job fair.

The agency will keep track of companies that are not adhering to this mandate and delist them from the pool of companies eligible to join in Dole’s job fairs.

Apart from this requirement, companies are also required to post their vacancies at Dole’s Phil-Jobnet, an online job and applicant matching system that aims to fast-track jobseekers’ search for jobs and employers’ search for manpower.

Using the system, jobseekers can submit their own application, search for job opportunities, run the job matching process, and get a list of vacancies and corresponding employers’ contact information.

Employers, on the other hand, also have the options to post vacancies for free, search for job applicants, run the job matching process; and get a list of applicants and their corresponding contact information. CSL
