Showcasing Wonderful Indonesia

Of apples and lemons

IN A recent event hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao: “Wonderful Indonesia: Tourism, Food, and Trade Expo 2019,” the country’s tourism and economic teams pushed forward what the nation has to offer to Mindanao. For three days, Indonesian cuisine, culture, and products were highlighted.

There is much more to Kopiko that our neighbor can offer. They have good coffee, the cuisine can tickle your taste buds and the confectionery is exciting. Some of these were presented in the expo.

In terms of destinations, admittedly, the island of Bali is the most popular destination in Indonesia. But in an archipelago with thousands of islands, the nation has more to offer—and for tourists to discover and marvel in its beauty.

Leading the launching ceremony was the new Indonesian Consul General Dicky Fabrian. He was proud to share that out of the series of expos that the Indonesian Consulate have organized for the past years, this is the first time that they have organized a tourism expo in conjunction with food and trade expo.

City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio sent her well wishes to the organizers, saying, “This is more than an opportunity to showcase the culture of Indonesia. It is a celebration of friendship between two peoples. This year’s expo is a manifestation of Indonesia’s dynamism and vision, and Davao City is honored to be part of it.”

Congratulations Indonesia. Terima kasih!
