P1.2-M shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P1.2 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” was seized in a drug bust at Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, on Wednesday afternoon.

The operation conducted by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Leonardo Borromeo also led to the arrest of Regina Oro and Sam Aguirre, both residents of Barangay Banago.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 3:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 24 sachets of shabu weighing 100 grams, the P1,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
