Jealousy kills 3

THREE individuals, including a minor, were stabbed to death Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Block 1, Sunrise Village, Matina Crossing, Davao City by the live-in partner of one of the victims because of alleged jealousy.

Based on a report provided by Talomo Police Station (PS) Chief Police Major Ronald Lao, his office received information from Central 911 regarding a stabbing incident that transpired in their area.

The victims were identified as Jessa May Tecson Abitona, female, 25, single with a live-in partner; Jesybell Tecson Abitona, female, 20, single both renters of boarding house owned by Alma Pateño; and Caryl Jiff J. Salianon, male, 17, single, student. They are all native of Manay, Davao Oriental. The victims succumbed to multiple stab wounds in their body.

The suspect was identified as Daryl Pakna Aguilar, male, 22, single, and the live-in partner of Jessa May, and a native of Purok 6, Barangay San Jose Compostela, Compostela Valley Province.

Based on the witnesses' accounts, around 12:45 a.m. Friday, they saw the suspect arrive at the boarding house and seemed to be drunk. He then entered the victims' rented room. Later on, they heard loud shouts by the two women with one of them asking for the help. Witnesses thought that it was only a family problem. When the commotion receded, they just ignored the incident.

However, around 5 a.m., the caretakers of the boarding house, Sheila May Datuon Ayudtod and Michael Jardin, received information from the suspect through Facebook messenger stating that he killed his live-in partner Jessa May together with her companions inside the room.

When Jardin entered the room of the victims to verify, he saw them sprawled and soaked in their own blood.

Investigation also showed that the suspect asked Jardin for help claiming that he was stabbed by one of the victims.

The suspect is now in police custody. However, he was rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for immediate medical attention after he was stabbed.

Recovered from the crime scene were the murder weapon, kitchen knife measuring more or less 12 inches from tip to handle. Also recovered was one unit caliber 38 revolver without ammunition.

The suspect is currently confined at SPMC, Bajada, Davao City and was already in stable condition while the cadavers of the victims were brought to Angel Funeral Parlor for required autopsy examination.

Meanwhile, charges are now being prepared police for filing of appropriate charges against the suspect.
