AFTER their successful tree-planting activity as their kickoff project for Rotary Year 2019-2020, the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio immediately implemented a project focusing on the disease prevention and treatment.
Just recently, they supported and participated in the Bombo Radyo Baguio and Star FM Baguio medical, dental and optical mission that benefitted the needy community in the City of Pines.
Connecting with the big network in Baguio and strengthening their partnership with the Rotary Club of Hadano Naka Japan for the said purpose has resulted to another fruitful endeavor with hundreds of patients given the necessary health services they need.
RCMB president Ofelia Villanueva said that providing free health care to the less privileged is one of their priorities under her leadership.
“With testimonials from beneficiaries and the general positive feedback, we are challenged to make this a continuous event,” she said.
Straight from Japan, Dir. Shingo Komaki of RC Hadano Naka Japan traveled to Baguio to be part of the outreach mission.
A similar activity is expected to be implemented by RCMB in partnership with RC Hadano but this time more barangays in the far-flung areas will be chosen as beneficiaries.
Completing the team of RCMB in the important activity are Club Secretary Audrey Sungduan, Incoming President Jerry Chan, Past Presidents Fely Ronquillo and Oscar Matusalin, and Mike Ramat and other Rotarians.
Nurses John and Joseph Alos with pharmacist Jocelyn Carudo also volunteered for the mission.
With the rotary connecting with the community, concerns of the needy residents in the locality such as health care will be given attention with the support of their partners in service.
