THE people of Baguio, especially members of the fashion community (FAB Inc.), were among those delighted to welcome and experience a one-of-a-kind fashion exhibit -- “Luzviminda: Tapestries that Bind our Independence” by the amiable and dynamic members of the Designers Circle of the Philippines headed by Francis Calaquian.

Likewise, we were also grateful for the efforts and activities led by GM Ramon Cabrera of Forest Lodge. Our young designers had the chance to see for themselves this extravaganza from which I am surely certain, will inspire them in their work. Our local models as well were just as excited as they had the opportunity to wear and showcase fabulous ensembles and meet the guest designers.

Meanwhile, spectators were at awe with the cultural presentation and fashion show.

Events and Design Coordinator Eric John Galapon of Forest Lodge says he is “proud and happy as this is the first time in Baguio to host this kind of exhibit and fashion show that features garments representing the 3 major islands of the Philippines.”

Rest assured he says, “Forest Lodge and organizations like the Designer Circle Philippines will continue to come up with these kinds of event to promote and to preserve our culture and heritage through especially crafted clothing.”

DCP Francis Calaquian (Chairman), Dave Ocampo (VP External Affairs), Edwin Uy (Treasurer), and Norman Acuba (member) were present to talk about the upcoming event and ongoing activities.

As we rediscover our culture in the Philippines, everyone would surely be looking forward to these educational and enriching activities. The exhibit at Forest Lodge runs from July 13 to August 13. Models from De Stijl Image Reinvented.
